Little lion cub

Just hanging 'round the kitchen.

Here, he's practicing his waving.  He won't do it on command usually, just when he feels like it.  Doesn't matter if anyone's coming or going.

We had a lovely weekend (I was off!), which included a very special visit with Great Grandma Young.  Arlo enjoyed showing off his cool new soccer ball.

It was a quick visit, but very sweet and special and we hope to do it again soon!

Mountain Movies

Here are a few more fun videos from our week in the mountains.  (Keep in mind: you can also enlarge these by clicking on them.)

Playing with a pizza pan and a little bit of water...endless fun!

He loves to "get" Roscoe.

Cooking practice.

Peek-a-boo with mommy (sorry it's not in focus, but it was too cute not to post!).

Grazing in the grass

Can you dig it?

- Katie

Ahhh, Linville...

It was a breath of fresh air.  Literally.  Charlie, Arlo, Zoe, Roscoe and I (and GranDeda for part of the time) spent a week's vacation breathing in the cool, crisp, breezy mountain air.  For any of you who don't know, Linville is in the NC mountains, about 30 minutes from Boone, near Grandfather Mountain.  It is paradise (to us, anyways).

We ate every single meal (and graham cracker) outside.

We went swimming every day.

We crawled around in the grass under Carolina blue skies that matched his eyes.

We shared a swing with GranDeda.

We did a little rock-climbing.

We entertained ourselves with common household objects.  And a little water.

We strolled.

We snuggled.

We played in the sand.

And then took baths with mom to wash off all that sand!  (Check out his farmer's tan.)

Not pictured: morning coffee in rocking chairs on the front porch, daily golf cart adventures around the 'hood, raspberry picking (and eating), afternoon naps, outlet-shopping followed up with ice cream, home-cooking, loft-sleeping with open windows, and lots of family bonding time.

Believe it or not, today is Arlo's 10-month birthday.  My, how time is flying.  A week spent with family was priceless.
