Weekend fun

We had BEAUTIFUL weather in Durham this weekend!  It is so exciting to see little signs of Spring all over the place.  (Although it's a little too early for the signs of SUMMER...like the fact that it reached almost 80 degrees on Friday!)  But the weekend was refreshingly cool, but warm in the sun...just perfect.

Both days we met up with our friend Casey at a disc golf park here in Durham.  Arlo and Charlie love getting out for some DG together on weekends - and they have a standing Wednesday date with Casey - but I can only tag along on my off-weekends, so I try to take advantage.  Yesterday, I tried out my Moby wrap with Arlo facing out and he loved it!  (Darn it, why didn't I get a picture?) Today, we left him in the stroller so he could nap.  It amazes me that he can sleep while being rolled over logs, rocks, roots, ditches, branches, and piles of leaves, but he does!

After disc golf, we had lunch and a couple beers outside at Foster's here in Durham.  Arlo loved looking around at all the people and dogs.  I stole this picture from Casey (hope he doesn't mind!).  What a fun day!

Lately, Arlo loves trying to stand up!  He obviously needs lots of help, but he has strong little legs and can support himself pretty well for a little guy.

Look at these big blue eyes!  How incredibly gorgeous is he?!

Mommy made peanut butter cookies this afternoon.  Arlo was chilling in the kitchen with me with his glass of lemonade.  ;)

We tried rice cereal again this evening.  It is so funny!  He opens his mouth like a little baby bird, but doesn't always remember to close his mouth afterwards and swallow it down.

Overall, it was a great weekend with my boys!

Adventures in rice cereal

At Arlo's four-month visit a few days ago, the doc gave us the okay to start introducing foods other than breastmilk.  Yesterday afternoon, we started rice cereal!  I kept it pretty simple for this first meal - basically just breastmilk on a spoon.  He was opening his mouth and obviously interested, but I don't think he knew quite what to do.  :)  Here is yet another video (I promise I'll take some regular old pictures sometime soon - been on a video kick lately.)

Four months old!

Our sweet little boy turned 4 months old yesterday! Unbelievable. His four-month checkup was this morning, so here are the newest stats.

Head Circumference: 17.3 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 19.6lbs (99th percentile)
Height: 26.8 inches (96th percentile)

He has reached all of the 4-month milestones and more.  The doc was amazed that he already has two little teeth!  He's healthy as can be, sweet as pie, and we just can't get enough.
Here's another cute video of the little love muffin.

Finally - a video!

Here is the first footage of Arlo rolling over - can you tell I'm a proud mama?

My favorite things

I just cannot get over how quickly Arlo is growing and learning new things.  He amazes me.

This morning, Charlie noticed his first TOOTH coming in!  That explains the excessive drool and some grumpy nights lately.  But really he's handling it quite well.  Caught a great video tonight of him laughing at Daddy...now if only I could get it to upload!

Here are a few of our nearly 4-month-old little boy's favorite things:

Playing in the exersaucer...

Sitting up in his chair...

Going for walks...

Hanging with Roscoe...

Playing with Daddy...

Bathtime...

Hanging out with Mommy and the dogs...

Playdating with friends...

Spending time with my Grandmas...

Being a Tarheel!

Look at me!

(I initially intended to post this *with the video* on the day it happened, February 1st.  Since then, I've been trying my darndest to upload the video with no success!  Fellow bloggers...advice???)

After several tries, I finally managed to capture Arlo rolling over on video!  He is a pro!  And he loves being on his tummy.  Over the past several weeks, we could see him trying so hard, but he just couldn't get over that one arm.  Now he's got it all figured out.  He looks so proud of himself when he finally makes it!  I am a proud mama...but also scared at how fast he is growing up!  He'll be crawling, walking, talking, and driving before we know it.  I am so glad he decided to do this for the first time on my day off and not while the nanny was here!

This picture is from earlier in the day after the first time he rolled over.  I didn't have the video camera handy, but snapped this shot just as he made it all the way over.  He looked a little startled, but was totally thrilled!
